In Our Fight For Freedom, We Risk Winning A Few Battles, But Losing The War

我們為自由的抗爭,不要只望打贏幾場仗,要得到最終勝
利才算是贏

致黃英琪女士,

I was delighted to read your article which appeared in AM730 on Tuesday (September 4th).

It was such a well-written commentary on the current movement to stop the HK government from carrying out the mass brainwashing of our children, that I thought it a pity if more people could not read it; hence the liberty that I took of reposting it on my Blog. I sincerely hope that you would not see anything improper in this.

I would be delighted and honored if you could have time to take a quick look at my Blog. You may not agree with some of my more radical points of view, but I am sure that you would not take exception to the main thrust of my Blog’s content.

I believe that more people should realize that most (if not all) of our current woes can be traced to one single source, namely, that Government has become too big and too powerful.  Government now consumes an ever greater share of society’s resources, has become corrupted by too much power, and has become uncontrollable.

I have pointed out that, of all the freedoms that Government has taken from us, the one most important but least understood, is our freedom to decide what to accept as money. The fact that Money has been turned by Government into Legal Tender by fiat (Fiat Money) is at the source of all governments’ increasing power.

Fiat Money (money that is backed by nothing other than government legislation) has given Government a source of almost unlimited income through unlimited expansion of credit. But the inflation that this has unleashed has destroyed the savings of ordinary citizens, and has driven countless people into speculative activities in property, stocks, and financial derivatives, causing ruin and grief.

Gold has been Money for thousands of years prior to the recent advent (since 1971) of Fiat Money. Gold is the only real and tangible form of money, as J.P. Morgan himself once candidly admitted.

Gold denies Government the ability to print unlimited amounts of money. Gold limits the size and power of Government. Gold protects people’s savings from being robbed by government-engineered inflation.

Government is the problem. Therefore, the solution to society’s problems cannot be found in more government intervention. Unless people realize this, all our efforts to counter Government’s ever more blatant abuse of power will be in vain. We may win a battle here and a battle there, at great cost to us, but we will definitely lose the war.

The only way to stop the aggrandizement of Government is for us to turn away from Fiat Money. If more people refrain from participating in the government-sponsored financial casino (property, stocks, bonds, currencies), and put their savings instead into Gold, that will be more efficient than any amount of protest.

Too many do not realize that the more we expect from Government, the more power we grant it. The more power Government has, the more corrupt and bossy it becomes. As Government becomes more powerful, the less freedom we will have. The price to pay for government providing welfare is to live in a government-operated prison.

Just think of the days when Government was less intrusive. Did we not then have more freedom to choose, whether in education, medical care, housing, work, etc.?

Respectfully yours.
